Contra Dance at the False Creek Community Centre
1318 Cartwright Street (Granville Island)

Dance to live fiddle music, accompanied by stand up bass, percussion and marimba. All the dances are taught on the spot by a dance caller. Contra dancing is similar to square dancing. It’s an urban barn dance.
No experience is necessary. Participants don't need to bring a partner.
At contra dances strangers feel free to ask each other to dance.

If you are new to contra dancing it's a good idea to attend the beginners session
at 6:45 pm, just before the dance starts.
